V-Nova is committed to unlocking higher picture quality at scale.  Its technologies improve data, video, imaging, point-cloud compression and have been granted international standard status by MPEG, ISO and SMPTE. Our relentless investment in R&D has built a portfolio of over 600 international patents which we monetize through software licensing, IP royalties and product sales.

V-Nova LCEVC is the industry’s first highly optimized library for encoding and decoding enhanced video streams with MPEG-5 Part 2, Low-Complexity Enhancement Video Coding (LCEVC).

V-Nova VC-6 is a high-performance AI-powered software library for SMPTE VC-6 (ST-2117) which is used primarily for professional production workflows and imaging applications.

Product Description

V-Nova LCEVC is the industry’s first highly optimized software library for encoding and decoding enhanced video streams with MPEG-5 Part 2, low-complexity enhancement video coding (LCEVC).

LCEVC has been developed by MPEG, following rigorous performance and visual quality tests, with IP from V-Nova. It provides an additional layer of compression efficiency to any existing or future video codec. LCEVC offers higher quality at lower bitrates to any video distribution workflow, whilst reducing processing power and costs.

Business Benefits

  • Reduce Churn –Better video quality and increased resolutions at the same bitrates drive up Quality-of-Experience and customer satisfaction, increasing viewing times for improved ad-monetisation and significantly reducing subscriber churn
  • Increase Reach – Enables stable video delivery at lower bitrates than ever before (as low as 100kbps) – meaning viewers can be reached over the most limited networks
  • Reduce Delivery Costs – Storage and CDN delivery costs can be cut by up to 80%

V-Nova VC-6 is a high-performance AI-powered software library for encoding and decoding SMPTE VC-6 (ST-2117) which is used in professional contribution, remote production and visual recognition indexing workflows in addition to mass-market next-generation video experiences such as VR/AR, and ad-tech applications. SMPTE VC-6 also includes IP contributed by V-Nova.
